Golden Girls fanatics will be able to test their knowledge of the hit 1980s sitcom with a brand-new Trivial Pursuit game based on the series. If that wasn't enough, NECA announced at San Diego Comic-Con last week that they are releasing a collectible lineup of Golden Girls action figures featuring all four of the main characters. If you think you've mastered everything that you need to know about all 180 episodes of the show, including the one where Dorothy tries out for Jeopardy, then the new Trivial Pursuit game is a good starting point.
Golden Girls Trivial Pursuit is being promoted as the perfect way to "thank you for being a friend," and retails for $19.99. The game features a massive 600 questions that cover every episode of the original run of the series. Sadly, the game does not feature the 34 episodes from Golden Palace, the spin-off series that Bea Arthur did not participate in. Categories for the Golden Girls Trivial Pursuit game include: The Ladies, Family Matters, Who Said It?, Men of the Night, Locations, and Words of Wisdom.
Now that you have your Golden Girls Trivial Pursuit, you might as well head over to NECA to pick up their brand-new 8" action figures dedicated to the show that were announced last weekend at San Diego Comic-Con. The group includes Dorothy, Rose, Blanche, and Sofia, who are all dressed in fabric clothing that's perfect for an afternoon on the lanai, and feature authorized likenesses. While the figures are 8" tall, the Sofia character is a little shorter than the rest of the gang, keeping it accurate to the show. Each figure is fully articulated and in true NECA fashion, incredibly detailed.
The Golden Girls was created by Susan Harris and originally aired on NBC from September of 1985, to May of 1992, with a total of 180 half-hour episodes over seven seasons. The show stars Beatrice Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan, and Estelle Getty, as four older women who share a home in Florida. The series was critically acclaimed and earned many awards over the 7 years that it was originally on the air. Golden Girls is now in syndication and has gained a whole new group of fans over the 26 years since the show went off the air.
The NECA Golden Girls action figures will begin shipping in the first quarter of 2019, while the Trivial Pursuit game is available to purchase now. The ultimate Golden Girls party can now happen with friends getting together, picking their favorite action figure and then diving into an intense game of Trivial Pursuit that will test your knowledge of everything that you thought that you knew about the show. Quotes from Bea Arthur's Dorothy should be pretty easy to spot. Actually, all of the quotes from all four characters and their distinct personalities should be pretty easy to figure out. You can head over to Think Geek to purchase the Trivial Pursuit game and check out the NECA figures below.
