If you've been wondering how to plan your next vacation, Flip Phone Events has you covered. A Golden Girls at Sea themed cruise experience will be setting sail next year on Feb. 24, 2020, from Miami, Florida. Of course, that's the city where the titular ladies lived on the comedy series, making it a perfect point of departure. The cruise will include stopovers in Key West, Florida, and Cozumel, Mexico. While these exotic locations will be nice to visit, the bulk of the fun from the trip will certainly come from the ship itself, which will sound like absolute paradise for any major fan of the classic '80s sitcom.

Perhaps most importantly of all, there will be plenty of cheese cake, as a cheese cake party will be one of the special events to be found on board. Other fun activities on the ship include Dorothy's Bingo, Golden Girls Trivia, One Night in St. Olaf Dance Party, Rusty Anchor karaoke party, and a Shady Pines craft corner. Of course, costumes are encouraged, because there will be a costume contest as well to judge those with the best Dorothy, Blanche, Sophia, and Rose outfits. Does eating cheese cake while being surrounded by a gaggle of Golden Girls fans in costumes not sound like an unforgettable experience?

The Golden Girls originally ran from 1985 to 1992. The show focused on four previously-married woman moving together in a single household, each with their own distinct personalities. It starred Bea Arthur as Dorothy Zbornak, Rue McClanahan as Blanche Devereaux, Estelle Getty as Sophia Petrillo, and Betty White as Rose Nylund. A short-lived spin-off called The Golden Palace would air after the show ended, taking place in a Miami hotel with Blance, Sophia, and Rose. Sadly, most of the original cast members are no longer with us, as White is the only surviving lead actress from the series. It's not clear if the 97-year-old will be making a special appearance on the cruise, but it's certainly possible.

Despite ending almost thirty years ago, The Golden Girls seems to be just as popular as ever. It's easy to find modern clothing featuring the ladies from the show at various retailers, along with other forms of merchandise. It was also previously announced by NECA that all four women would be getting clothed action figures based on their likenesses as well. While most sitcoms seem to have been forgotten over time, The Golden Girls is trendy with today's audiences, and it seems likely the cruise will be filled with fans of the show from all age groups.

The Golden Girls at Sea cruise is not the first of its type, with The Walking Dead and Star Trek receiving theme cruises of their own in the past. The experience is set on the cruise ship Celebrity Infinity, which carries a 2,170 person total occupancy. Prices range from about $1,000 to $1,2000 based on double occupancy, but the best part is each ticket comes with unlimited drinks. It's not clear how many times you'll be hearing the trademark theme song once you're on board the ship, but chances are, it will be a lot. You can find out more info at Flip Phone Events.
