The Matthews family is finally complete for the Disney Channel pilot Girl Meets World, a spin-off of the hit 90s sitcom Boy Meets World. 13-year-old actor Teo Halm has signed on to play Elliott, the teenage son of Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) Matthews.

Rowan Blanchard signed on last month to play the lead Riley, the Matthews' 11-year-old daughter whose eyes the show is told through, in a style similar to Boy Meets World.

Cory is now a seventh grade history teacher, who has Riley in his class. Cory is also said to have the same tendencies as Mr Feeny (William Daniels) from Boy Meets World. Here's what Danielle Fishel had to say about the original show's lasting popularity.

"I don't think any of us had any idea how much people have loved Boy Meets World and how excited they would be for this kind of a show. I think it says a lot about where we are in society and the kind of shows people are anxious to see back. I know I personally miss some of the more wholesome family shows that you can watch together and I'm excited to be a part of another one."

Boy Meets World creator Michael Jacobs wrote the script, with John Whitesell directing. Production on the pilot is slated to begin later this month. If The Disney Channel picks up the series, it will debut sometime during the 2013-2014 season.
