The X-Files star Gillian Anderson and 666 Park Avenue actress Rachael Taylor have joined the cast of Rand Ravich's untitled pilot for NBC.

The Untitled Rand Ravich/NBC Project story centers on an idealistic new Secret Service agent who gets embroiled in a vast international crisis during his first day on the job. He is assigned to protect the President's son, when the son and many of his classmates are kidnapped. Rachael Taylor is playing FBI agent Susie Dunn, whose biological daughter Amber is among the abducted children. Gillian Anderson portrays Susie's older sister Meg, who has been raising Amber as her own.

Rand Ravich wrote the pilot script and is executive producing the pilot, alongside Far Shariat. No production schedule was given for the pilot.

If the pilot is ordered to series, this will be Gillian Anderson's first regular TV gig since The X-Files went off the air in 2002. The actress also has a three-episode arc on NBC's upcoming series Hannibal, which debuts April 4.
