HBO has released the series finale trailer for Game of Thrones. It's the final trailer for the series as a whole and fans of the show are starting to get a little uncomfortable that it's all over. While seasons 8 and 7 have been criticized for trying to throw too much into every episode to finish up in a timely manner, fans are still on the edge of their seats during every minute, trying to figure out what is going to happen next or who is going to die. Nobody is safe.

Continuing with tradition, the trailer for the final Game of Thrones episode is purposely vague and builds off of everything we just saw. Even after 80 minutes, we're all left wanting more and this week is going to be especially hard to get through knowing that next Sunday is going to be the last episode ever. Luckily, HBO will tease us a bit more with some images from the upcoming episode midweek, which will be just as vague as the new trailer, though oddly satisfying at the same time.

Season 8 has seen a number of twists and turns, but what will the final episode reveal? Who is going to end up on the Iron Throne when all of the ash settles? These are the questions fans will be asking each other over the next seven days as they anticipate the final episode. In addition, there will be some pretty serious bets placed on one of the largest events in TV history, so if you're into that sort of thing, make sure you choose wisely when putting down some hard earned cash.

While next week will be the final Game of Thrones episode, we will also be treated to a 2-hour documentary entitled, Game of Thrones: The Last Watch. The doc was directed by British filmmaker Jeanie Finlay and it is going to go into detail about the making of season 8. HBO had this to say about the upcoming movie.

"Game of Thrones: The Last Watch delves deep into the mud and blood to reveal the tears and triumphs involved in the challenge of bringing the fantasy world of Westeros to life in the very real studios, fields and car-parks of Northern Ireland... Much more than a 'making of' documentary, this is a funny, heartbreaking story, told with wit and intimacy, about the bittersweet pleasures of what it means to create a world - and then have to say goodbye to it."

Next week is going to be crazy, but at least Game of Thrones fans will be able to decompress with the documentary afterwards on May 26th. The behind-the-scenes look should be enough for fans to get some closure, at least until the prequel shows debut. With that being said, it will be interesting to see how/if the prequels are accepted when they are released. It's going to be hard to get anything going that will match half of the success Game of Thrones has earned over the years. With that being said, you can prepare for the end by watching the final episode trailer below, thanks to HBO.
