HBO has released a trailer for Game of Thrones Season 8 episode 3. Next week will mark the halfway point since there are only six episodes this season, which means we're nearly at the end. So far, the show has been setting up the beginning of the end and the tensions have never been higher as new identities come to light and new allegiances are uncomfortably made. As for how it will all come crashing down, that is unclear at the moment, but it isn't keeping fans from watching and analyzing every scene, talking about it on social media.

Game of Thrones Season 8 is kind of a big deal in the world of TV and the show has been ever since it debuted in August 2011. It's incredibly hard to believe it's all going to wrap up within the next few weeks and some fans just aren't ready for it to stop and see whether or not their favorite characters live or die. Thankfully, HBO and showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff have created something special for the final season, which has only been hinted at in the first two episodes.

HBO unveiled the official ratings for last Sunday's debut episode and they were huge. Game of Thrones Season 8 episode 1 was watched by a record 17.4 million viewers across HBO's platforms (linear, HBOGO and HBO NOW), which blows away the previous series high of 16.9 million viewers for the Season 7 finale. If that wasn't enough, the debut episode was also the most-tweeted about episode in the show's eight-year history. The network has had an excellent presence on social media, releasing online-only character posters and a new set of fun emojis for fans to share.

In addition to the record-high official ratings for Game of Thrones, it was also pirated over 55 million times in a 24-hour period, which is just bonkers. Even people who aren't into the series are tuning in to see how it's all going to end, joining fans from around the world like a major sporting event. There's going to be a lot to talk about at the water cooler tomorrow morning at work, so make sure you're fully up to date and clear your schedule for the next handful of Sundays.

Game of Thrones is almost finished, so fans are trying to savor every bit of new footage. Thankfully, we have a tease for next week and it looks insane. It's going to be very interesting to see how everything ends and how the fans react to it when the dust settles. Whatever the case may be, the response has been overwhelmingly positive so far, except for the How to Train Your Dragon-like scene from episode 1. While we wait for next week to come around, you can watch the episode 3 trailer below, thanks to HBO.
