The latest Game of Thrones Season 8 images paint a pretty dark picture. HBO has released six images from the upcoming episode 3, which is when the battle against the dead will begin. The episode clocks in at 82 minutes and is directed by Hardhome and Battle of the Bastards helmer Miguel Sapochnik. It has been rumored that this battle is going to put the Battle of the Bastards to shame when all is said and done. Last week's episode was a bit on the happy side, while this week looks like we're going to see some deaths with the arrival of the White Walkers.
In the first Game of Thrones Season 8, episode 3 images, we see Jon Snow and Daenerys as they look at the approaching threat on the horizon. It's dark and it really doesn't look good for the living in Westeros. Snow and the army have a plan to lure the Night King out of hiding using Bran as bait with the protection of Theon Greyjoy, but further photos suggest the original plan may have gone out the window. Plus, there are some pretty grim fan theories floating around online, which could spell trouble for the innocent locked down in the crypt for safety.
While Jon Snow looked pretty comfortable getting ready for battle, another picture is the complete opposite. His hair is a mess, he's bloody, and he has a shocked look on his face as if he is witnessing something horrific. Did the bones of old Stark lords rise up in the crypt at the Night King's command? For now, that is a fan theory, but it certainly seems very plausible as the rest of the images are just as grim. Where are the dragons?
Ser Brienne of Tarth and Jaime Lannister are seen leading an army and things look pretty tense. It certainly looks like there will be a lot of bloodshed in the upcoming episode, which is not out of the ordinary for Game of Thrones. Elsewhere, Sansa and Arya Stark appear to preparing for battle themselves as the White Walkers get closer. With episode 3, fans of the hit HBO show are finally getting the feature-length runtimes, which were teased before the season even premiered.
Game of Thrones Season 8, episode 3 airs this Sunday and it looks like it could be the most epic battle ever shown in the series. We've seen some pretty fantastic stuff in the past, but this is it. The final season. All bets are off at the moment and after the episode airs, we will officially be halfway through the end. It's a very exciting and sad time to be a Game of Thrones fan, but there's still four more episodes to go. You can check out some of the latest images from the upcoming episode below, thanks to HBO.
