With Game of Thrones gearing up for its eighth and final season, it seems that casting is already under way. A new report reveals that a casting call has gone out for two new characters that will be featured in Game of Thrones Season 8, both of whom will be quite young. If you still aren't caught up on the series yet, there will be potential SPOILERS below, so read on at your own risk.

This casting report comes from Watchers On the Wall, which reveals that casting will take place this week in the U.K. for these two roles, while also confirming a report from last month, when Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) revealed that the Game of Thrones final season starts production in October. This casting call reveals that one character will be needed for the week of November 17, while another character will be needed on the last week of November. Still, it hasn't been confirmed when this final season will air on HBO yet, but at least now we have some details on at least two of the new characters.

The first role is an unnamed "Northern girl," who is said to be around the age of eight years old, although the producers will consider girls as old as 10 years old for the role. The character is described as a "straight-talking Northern-accented girl, who is remarkable for her dauntlessness and integrity." While the casting call doesn't reveal which Northern house she hails from, the description states that she was raised by a family of soldiers and that she shares their "fearlessness." The role was also described as a "very nice stand-out part for a strong-minded young girl with a fighting spirit." The actress will be needed for a shoot that spans the week ending on November 17.

The second role is a boy between the ages of eight and 12 years old, who has a "physically fit and agile look" who has a "good distinctive face." The character is said to have come from a poor background and has had to fight for everything. The production is looking for an actor who can, "completely own the scenes that he appears in," which means he will have multiple scenes. There is no specific ethnicity or height mentioned for this character, which means he will likely not be a Northern character, and could be featured in King's Landing, although that has yet to be confirmed. This actor will be used for filming during the last week of November, and again in the last week of December, which seemingly indicates that this boy will appear in multiple episodes.

Since the show is so far beyond the George R.R. Martin books, it's impossible to look to the novels for any clues about who these characters may be. As for the Northern Girl, it's possible that she comes from a Northern family we haven't seen yet in the series. The Game of Thrones Season 7 finale ended with the Night King and his army of white walkers coming through the woods at Eastwatch, with the Night King destroying the wall with his resurrected dragon. The season ended with the massive army marching into Westeros with no one to stop them. It's possible that this Northern girl is from a family we haven't seen yet, who is among the first victims of this army of undead soldiers. That is only speculation as of now, but hopefully we'll find out more as we get closer to production starting on the final season of Game of Thrones.
