HBO's Game of Thrones has always been a beacon for controversy, with several fans speaking out about the show's violent nature, nudity, rape scenes and incestual relationships. With all of this graphic content, it may not be surprising that some footage from the show has surfaced on the XXX website PornHub, but it may not be there for long. A new report reveals that HBO is taking action against the porn site, asking them to take down content from super popular fantasy series.

BBC Newsbeat reports that HBO is taking some sort of action against PornHub over claims of copyright infringement, after several actual nude scenes from the show appeared on the site. There have also been a number of parody videos that have been shown on the site, with porn stars pretending to be Game of Thrones characters such as Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) or Lord Varys (Conleth Hill). Here's what an HBO representative had to say in a statement.

"HBO is aware of the issue and is in the process of getting material taken down from Pornhub."

Last month, PornHub released user data that revealed searches for Game of Thrones was slightly above average in April, but they tripled later that month, peaking at 370% in America on Sunday, April 24, the same day Season 6 premiered. Some of the highest searches involved the Walk of Shame, where Cersei was forced to walk naked through King's Landing in the Season 5 finale last June. Here's what Pornhub vice president Corey Price had to say in his statement.

"Pornhub is fully compliant with the law. We respect all copyright requests and once received immediately remove any infringing content, as well as offer content fingerprinting to block infringing content from being uploaded by content owners."

Among other top searches on Pornhub were for Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell), Sibel Kekilli (Shae) and the Jon Snow character, played by Kit Harington. It isn't known yet if PornHub has complied with HBO's requests to remove Game of Thrones content. Season 6 of Game of Thrones continues Sunday night at 9 PM ET with The Broken Man on HBO.
