HBO has provided 14 preview images from this Sunday's Game of Thrones Season 8. The first episode left fans with a cliffhanger and now we're all waiting to see the fate of Jaime Lannister after running into instant meme generator Bran Stark. There's only one episode so far and fans are already freaking out about what's going to happen in episode 2, which from the looks of things, is going to have a whole lot going on in it. As a bit of trivia, the very first episode of Game of Thrones premiered on this day, April 17th, 8 years ago.
Jaime Lannister is on trial in one of the new images from Game of Thrones Season 8. Will they sentence him to death for being the Kingslayer or for throwing Bran out the window all of those years ago? Jaime has had a pretty interesting character arc since the series started and can be seen in a bit of a good light lately, if you forget about the whole throwing a kid from the window thing.
Speaking of Bran, he is featured in a few of the new pictures from the next Game of Thrones episode. He is spotted staring at the snow covered Weirwood tree and hanging out by the fireplace in another picture. Jon Snow is deep in thought with Arya while Tyrion is drinking an adult beverage, probably thinking about the possibility of watching his get executed. Missandei and Greyworm are featured in an image and so are Sansa Stark and Daenerys Targaryen, who seem to be getting along a little bit better now. Also featured in the preview images is the return of Gilly and Little Sam.
Jon Snow is still reeling from the news Sam told him about his real mother and father and his place in the kingdom. It's going to be very interesting to see if he and Daenerys are still gleefully riding dragons in the rest of Game of Thrones Season 8 after learning about Jon's true identity. The Mother of Dragons is probably not going to be too pleased when she learns of this new development, which is why people keep coming back for more.
Game of Thrones Season 8 only consists of 6 episodes and is on track to be the biggest season of the entire series. The first episode, which debuted last Sunday, was watched by a record 17.4 million viewers across HBO's different watching platforms, making it the most-viewed episode in the show's history. With that being said, we're in for a bumpy ride over the next handful of episodes. The White Walkers are close to hitting Winterfell and even with two dragons and a few armies, the living look like they still need a lot more in order to survive.
