"Hand of the Queen," the first in a series of Game of Thrones inspired beers, is set to finally hit the market this month. The brewery Ommegang and HBO have collaborated to deliver four beers inspired by the Game of Thrones series, all set for limited release. Each one is designed as an homage to one of the four notable figures in the Battle for the Seven Kingdoms, which will be the main focus of the show's final season.

With the release of Hand of the Queen almost upon us, Ommegang has decided to announce the next beer in their series, which is set for a late June release. "Queen of the Seven Kingdoms," the second of the four beers, is a brew made specifically for Cersei Lannister.

Queen of the Seven Kingdoms is a blend of Belgian sour ale and Belgian-style blonde ale, which Ommegang says is "fitting for the fair-haired ruler who is as acerbic as they come." It is set to release on June 29th, both on draft and in 750mL bottles, with a suggested price of $12.99.

The beer bears a gold color with a white head. It carries aromas of melon, citrus, and lactic acid, all put together to make a fruity, savoring smell that is sure to wet the taste buds. Ommegang says it will go well with sharp-aged cheese, and salty-cured meats, red meat, or poultry, in addition to desserts like pumpkin pie and apple tarts.

"Cersei is a complex character, and we've tried to emulate that profile with this beer, which blends a lovely, dry blonde ale with a subtly tart Belgian sour," said Doug Campbell, the President of Ommegang. Said Jeff Peters, Vice President of Global Licensing and Retail, HBO.

"When we set out to create the Royal Reserve Collection, we knew we had to pay homage the character currently sitting on the Iron Throne. We're very happy to present this tribute to the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms herself, Cersei Lannister"

This is certainly exciting for Game of Thrones fans, assuming they are over their respective legal drinking age. Those who can't wait for Queen of the Seven Kingdoms to release can of course get a hold of Hand of the Queen, the barleywine based on Tyrion Lannister, when it releases later this month. The other two beers in the Royal Reserve Collection have yet to be announced, but are set to release in October and December of this year.

Unfortunately, these Game of Thrones beers are only on limited release, which means fans avid to get their hands on them may need to travel in order to get a taste of Hand of the Queen and Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. In order to help their fans get a hold of their Royal Reserve Collection, Ommegang has created an online, easy-to-use Beer Finder Ommegang. Now people in search of these delicious drinks won't need to travel aimlessly looking for it. Will you be trying Hand of the Queen or Queen of the Seven Kingdoms when they release?
