Just one day after debuting a new trailer for The Strain, FX has released our first look at one of the network's other new summer programs, Tyrant, which is executive produced by Homeland's Howard Gordon and Gideon Raff. In typical FX fashion, this trailer doesn't reveal a whole lot, although it does give us our first look at Adam Rayner's Barry Al Fayeed, the son of a foreign dictator who returns to his home country of Baladi after spending several years living in America with his wife and children, where he gets swept up in the political unrest that has emerged while he was away. Ang Lee was originally set to make his TV debut by directing the pilot, but he eventually bowed out, with David Yates taking over the directorial duties for the series premiere. FX hasn't announced exactly when the show will debut this summer, so stay tuned to find out when this drama series will premiere.
