The cast of Full House is having some fun with their time spent at home, as they've recreated the opening of the show to coincide with current events. In the interest of public safety, people across the world have been staying at home with non-essential businesses shuttering and social distancing strongly encouraged. Bob Saget, who plays clean freak Danny Tanner on the classic comedy series and its spin-off Fuller House, recently joked on Twitter that he's actually become his character after "cleaning and vacuuming and sanitizing everything in the house."
Now, Bob Saget is channeling Danny Tanner once again in a new parody video PSA shared by the actor on Twitter. In the video, the Full House theme music plays, but an appropriate new title is displayed to more accurately reflect the actors staying at home. Like in the original intro, the video cycles through the stars of the series, depicting how each of them are spending their time at home. This includes Saget as Danny sanitizing a mop handle (and his face), and also features John Stamos (Uncle Jesse), Dave Coulier (Uncle Joey), Candace Cameron Bure (DJ Tanner), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner), Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibbler), and creator Jeff Franklin. You can watch the video below.
Full House originally ran on television for eight seasons between 1987 and 1995. The series was later resurrected on Netflix with the spin-off Fuller House in 2016, bringing back the entire cast from the original series and even setting the show in the same San Francisco household. The series turned out to be a success, making it to five seasons on a streamer that's notorious for axing shows early and unexpectedly. After premiering the first half of the fifth and final season in December, Netflix will premiere the remaining episodes of Fuller House sometime in 2020. Although this seems to be the end of the franchise, nothing is impossible, and it could just be a matter of time before everyone gets back together for a third show called Fullest House.
On both iterations of the series, Saget's Danny Tanner character has always been known as an obsessive clean freak, unable to rest at night unless the Tanner home is completely spotless. At the time, the personality trait was a subject of humor for the character, but given recent events, it now appears Danny may have been on to something. In addition to social distancing and staying at home, it's also highly recommended to maintain maximum cleanliness, meaning someone like Danny Tanner would be among the most protected of us in our current situation.
In any case, these are scary times we're currently going through, and for many, a dose of humor can go a long way towards easing the uneasiness felt by so many of us. For Full and Fuller House fans, this parody video achieves just that, and it's also fun to see the cast reuniting once again - even digitally for the sake of a spoof of their own show. Stay safe by adhering to the guidelines recommended by health professionals, and try to be as clean as Danny Tanner for some extra protection. The Full House parody video comes to us from Bob Saget on Twitter.
