Full House creator Jeff Franklin brought together several cast members of the classic sitcom to celebrate National Dog Week with an amusing music video. Calling themselves The Full Dog-House, the group includes Bob Saget, John Stamos, Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and Andrea Barber. Together, they perform Franklin's original song "Gotta Love a Golden," paying tribute in particular to golden retrievers -- the breed featured on both Full House and its sequel series Fuller House.

In honor of National Dog Week, the purpose of the music video is to raise awareness and fight animal homelessness in the United States. The release of the song also happens to coincide with the 33rd anniversary of the premiere of Full House on ABC. Franklin is also making the original song available for fans to purchase, and all of the proceeds will be used to benefit animals. At the end of the video, Franklin also asks viewers to support their local pet adoption and rescue programs. He also encourages viewers to donate directly to PetSmart Charities at their official website.

"As the proud owner of two awesome golden retrievers, I know firsthand how important the consistent comfort and unconditional love that a pet can provide... Creating forever homes for our pets continues to be one of my life missions," Franklin also said of his efforts to help animals, per TMZ. And now we know why the Tanner and Fuller families both just had to have golden retrievers.

Full House originally aired on ABC for eight seasons between 1987 and 1995. The series followed a widowed father and his two best friends raising three young girls in a San Francisco home. Famously, the show introduced the Olsen Twins to the world, with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen sharing the role of Michelle Tanner. It's no surprise to see the Olsen Twins absent from the "Gotta Love a Golden" video, as they opted not to come back for any kind of appearance in the Netflix sequel series Fuller House.

Earlier this year, Fuller House also concluded its run on Netflix after five seasons. The sequel series brought back most of the original cast from Full House, this time featuring older versions of DJ, Stephanie, and Kimmy Gibbler working together to raise children in that same San Francisco house. With many popular Netflix shows getting canceled much sooner, making it five seasons can still be seen as a big success for the show on the streamer. The series was also a big hit with viewers, winning big at the Teen Choice Awards, People's Choice Awards, and Kids' Choice Awards.

Fuller House might be over, but it's certainly a wonderful thing to see so many cast members still working together to support a great cause. All proceeds raised from "Gotta Love a Golden" will be donated to PetSmart Charities. The song is now "available for purchase online everywhere you look." If you'd like to donate directly to the charity, you can do so at PetSmartCharities.org. This news comes to us from TMZ.
