With production currently under way on Fear the Walking Dead Season 3 in Baja, Mexico, AMC has released the first three photos and the official synopsis for these new episodes. The photos give us our first look at returning characters Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) and Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis), while Nick (Frank Dillane) is seen comforting a terrified Luciana (Danay Garcia). We also see a pensive and bloodied Strand (Colman Domingo). Take a look at the official synopsis for Fear the Walking Dead Season 3 below.
"As Fear the Walking Dead returns for season three, our families will be brought together in the vibrant and violent ecotone of the U.S.-Mexico border. International lines done away with following the world's end, our characters must attempt to rebuild not only society, but family as well. Madison (Kim Dickens) has reconnected with Travis (Cliff Curtis), her apocalyptic partner, but Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) has been fractured by her murder of Andres. Madison's son mere miles from his mother, Nick's (Frank Dillane) first action as a leader saw Luciana (Danay Garcia) ambushed by an American militia group, the couple escaped death, but Nick no longer feels immortal. Recovering both emotionally and physically, Strand (Colman Domingo) has his sights set on harnessing the new world's currency, and Ofelia's (Mercedes Mason) captivity will test her ability to survive and see if she can muster the savagery of her father."
Fear the Walking Dead returns this summer with a third season of 16 all-new episodes. Viewers have a chance to catch-up on Fear the Walking Dead Season 2, which is currently available On Demand through Monday, March 20 and on Hulu beginning Tuesday, March 21. A wholly original companion series to The Walking Dead, the #1 show on television among adults 18-49 for the last five years, Fear the Walking Dead explores the onset of the undead apocalypse through the eyes of a fractured family. The series is executive produced by Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero, David Alpert and showrunner Dave Erickson and produced by AMC Studios.
The series, which delivered the highest-rated first season of any series in cable history among total viewers and all key demos in live+3 ratings, stars Kim Dickens as Madison, Cliff Curtis as Travis, Frank Dillane as Nick, Alycia Debnam Carey as Alicia, Mercedes Masohn as Ofelia, and Colman Domingo as Strand. AMC is currently airing the webisodes Fear the Walking Dead: Passage, which may likely lead to one of the stars joining the cast for Fear the Walking Dead Season 3. During the first web series, Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462, Michelle Ang's Alex transitioned into the Fear the Walking Dead cast for Season 2.
Fear the Walking Dead will also welcome Emma Caulfield this season, with the actress portraying a mystery character that is believed to be a villain that has a big impact on both Nick and Luciana. It's possible that Emma Caulfield's character is who Nick and Luciana are both hiding from in this photo below, but that hasn't been confirmed. AMC also hasn't issued a premiere date quite yet, but the show will likely return for Season 3 this spring, after The Walking Dead Season 7 wraps up its run.
