AMC invades Comic-Con@Home with a panel, a new trailer, and an official release date for Fear the Walking Dead season 6. The zombie series was set to return this summer but will instead arrive this October. The cast and crew comes together, virtually, to dive into what we can expect from the upcoming episodes. The Walking Dead universe has been a staple of Comic-Con for more than a decade now and, even though the event isn't happening in person this year, that will remain true for the digital edition.

The Fear the Walking Dead panel takes a look at the series' upcoming sixth season. The panel, which is moderated by Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick, will feature The Walking Dead chief content officer Scott M. Gimple, as well as showrunners and executive producers Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg. Cast members Lennie James, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Colman Domingo, Danay Garcia, Karen David, Jenna Elfman and Rubén Blades are also set to appear. The panel is scheduled to kick off at 12 p.m. PT.

The main push of the new trailer seems to be: Is Morgan alive or dead? Fear the Walking Dead season 6 will focus on what has become of the unlikely family that was once united in their mission to help those in need. After being torn apart by Virginia (Colby Minifie) and her Pioneers, the group is now scattered across her settlements. Morgan's (James) last message at the end of season 5 implored the group to "Just Live." This season will reveal what that means to each of them.

Some will find the stability and opportunity within Virginia's communities to be intriguing, while others will sink into darkness, others will fight back against what has been forced upon them. Life behind Virginia's walls will test each one of them in different ways, forcing them to define who they are in this new world.

Production had to hit the pause button on season 6 back in March, much like many other shows and movies that were filming at the time. It remains, ahead of the panel, unclear as to what the plan is to finish things up. Lennie James previously said that he expected it would be a while before they could find a way to resume filming. With that in mind, there is a chance season 6 will be split up, with AMC releasing what episodes they can before resuming production. We are likely to learn more from the panel.

Despite ratings declines in recent years, The Walking Dead universe is AMC's strongest brand. Season 11 of the main series is already in the works, with a new spin-off, Walking Dead: World Beyond, coming our way as well. AMC has also partnered with Universal Pictures for a movie centered on Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes, which is planned as the first entry in a trilogy. Be sure to check out the Fear the Walking Dead season 6 panel for yourself, and keep up with all of our coverage of Comic-Con@Home throughout the entire weekend.
