Fear the Walking Dead season 6 finally has a return date. The mid-season finale of the hit zombie series aired back in November. AMC is, unfortunately, going to make fans wait a little while as the show is set to return to the airwaves this spring. As revealed by the official Fear the Walking Dead Twitter account, the series will pick up with the second half of its current season on April 11.

A brief video teaser was shared on social media, featuring a plant springing forth from the eyeball of a beheaded walker. The brief video was shared with the caption, "The end is the beginning. #FearTWD returns April 11th." As for what the tagline means, that remains to be seen. But AMC also shared a logline for the second half of Fear the Walking Dead season 6, which reads as follows.

"As Morgan's (Lennie James) bid to free the remaining members of the group becomes bolder, Virginia (Colby Minifie) grows increasingly desperate to find her sister and protect the settlements from forces working inside and outside her walls. The second half of Season Six reveals the impact of what living under Virginia's control has done to each person in this group, who once saw themselves as a family. New alliances will be formed, relationships will be destroyed, and loyalties forever changed. When everyone is forced to take sides, they discover the meaning of, 'The End is the Beginning.'"

Several new cast members will be getting in on the post-apocalyptic goodness when the show returns. John Glover (The Good Wife), Nick Stahl (Carnivale) and Keith Carradine (Madam Secretary) will all be appearing in Fear the Walking Dead in the second half of season 6. No word yet on who, specifically, they will be playing. The trio joins a cast that includes Lennie James (Morgan Jones), Alycia Debnam-Carey (Alicia Clark), Maggie Grace (Althea Szewczyk-Przygocki), Colman Domingo (Victor Strand), Danay Garcia (Luciana Galvez), Garret Dillahunt (John Dorie), Alexa Nisenson (Charlie), Jenna Elfman (June), Ruben Blades (Daniel Salazar), Karen David (Grace), Austin Amelio (Dwight), Mo Collins (Sarah Rabinowitz), Colby Hollman (Wes) and Zoe Colletti (Dakota).

Another bit of new info comes on the directing front. Aisha Tyler, of Archer and Criminal Minds fame, is set to direct episode 13 of Fear the Walking Dead season 6. Though Tyler is largely known for her on-screen work, she has experience as a director. Tyler has helmed episodes of Criminal Minds, Hipsterverse and Roswell, New Mexico.

AMC is staying in The Walking Dead business in a big way in the coming years. Even though the main show will end with season 11, several spin-offs, including one centered on Daryl and Carol, are on the way. The network also has an anthology series in development. The World Beyond, additionally, has one more season left and the Rick Grimes movies, which will bring back Andrew Lincoln, are still happening. Plus, Fear the Walking Dead has already been renewed for season 7. You can check out the brief teaser for yourself from the official Fear TWD Twitter account.
