The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is going to start production this weekend. Winter Soldier actor Sebastian Stan revealed the news over the weekend at Fandemic Tour in Houston. The production start was rumored back in May and has been confirmed, though Stan did not give a specific date. Anthony Mackie co-stars with Stan in the new Disney+ series, but not much is clear about the specific storyline. However, fans are hoping we will get to see some new Captain America when the show debuts.

While Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are hoping to see Sam Wilson pick up the shield that Steve Rogers left him at the end of Avengers: Endgame, it doesn't sound like that will be the case. Screenwriter Marc Bernardin recently made comments about the storyline for the series, noting the government isn't into the idea of a new Captain America. This will be Wilson's main storyline, while Bucky Barnes will put the focus on him becoming the White Wolf while trying to put the Winter Soldier life behind him.

Sebastian Stan was also asked about Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola's comments on the MCU at the Fandemic appearance. Both Scorsese and Coppola have had negative comments on Marvel movies recently and a lot of people are angry. Stan isn't angry, but he doesn't see their point either. He had this to say.

"He's one of my heroes and I was listening to him and meanwhile, I just spent the day with all of you. People have been going up to me like 'Thank you so much for this character,' 'This movie helped me out so much,' 'This movie inspired me. Now I feel better. Now I feel less alone,' so how can you say these movies are not helping people?"

Anthony Mackie quietly joined the world of social media last week and MCU fans are only starting to notice now. Mackie didn't break Instagram like Jennifer Aniston did, but he only posted a picture of some new dress shoes that he wanted some opinions on. Hopefully we'll see Mackie use the platform to troll Tom Holland some more, since we all know that's one of his favorite things to do to his co-star.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will debut on the Disney+ streaming service sometime next year. With production starting this week, we could see the series pop up in the late summer or early fall, depending on what Marvel Studios decides to do with their massive amount of Phase 4 TV projects. There are a lot on the way and one has to wonder how they have the time, energy, and money to put these things together. Actually, the money isn't really a mystery since they can practically print their own at this point in time.
