F is for Family will be back for at least one more go-around on Netflix. The streaming service has ordered a fourth season of the animated comedy, which comes from the mind of comedian Bill Burr. This comes just a couple of months after the successful release of season 3, which initially hit Netflix back in November. While the company is typically very cagey when it comes to revealing any sort of ratings or streaming numbers, they apparently are happy with the audience the series has garnered.

The series initially debuted in December 2015 and was one of the early pushes by Netflix into the world of adult animation. In the years since, it's become a major staple of their original programming lineup, with other shows such as BoJack Horseman, Big Mouth, Disenchantment and Paradise PD finding success as well. Netflix even decided to launch its own in-house animation studio late last year, in order to help them capitalize further on these endeavors in the future, and take more control over the creative process.

Bill Burr co-created F Is for Family alongside Michael Price, who used to work on The Simpsons. Burr also serves as a writer and lends his voice to the series. The rest of the cast includes Laura Dern, Justin Long and Sam Rockwell. In an interview with Film School Rejects last year, Burr revealed that the show has become easier to produce as it's gone on and that, despite the hardships that go along with finishing each season, after a break, he's ready for more.

"Well, every year when we're writing it and stuff, I wanna quit [Laughs] And then this time of year I'm ready to go for another season. But you know editing and stuff like that, this year was the easiest because everyone kinda knows the characters and everything like that. I had no idea what I was getting myself into but I can tell you, I'm so happy I did because I always felt I knew I how to write."

Vince Vaughn, Peter Billingsley, Katie O'Connell, Elisa Todd Ellis, Sidonie Dumas and Christophe Riandee produce the series, alongside co-creators Bill Burr and Michael Price. The series centers on the misadventures of the Murphy family in the 70s and is inspired by Burr's real life. The show has been a hit with critics and fans alike, as it sits comfortably with an 84 percent critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes, to go along with a 91 percent audience score.

Netflix has not yet announced a premiere date, but it's expected that the series will return in 2020. The series has generally been on a 17-month production window, so a summer 2020 premiere date would seem like a safe bet. F Is for Family season 4, like the previous two seasons, will consist of ten episodes. This news was previously reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
