The CW has released a new teaser trailer for their upcoming ArrowVerse crossover event. This particular Elseworlds sneak peek, which is just as brief as the ones we've been treated to previously, highlights Supergirl, one of the three heroes participating in this year's event. Clearly, her world is going to be turned upside down, as Kara isn't just going to be locked up in a meta-human prison and considered a danger to society, but she won't even be recognized by her own sister.

We open up with a shot of Kara (Melissa Benoist) locked in a very familiar looking type of jail cell with her adopted sister Alex (Chyler Leigh) treating her just like any other dangerous superpowered being. Alex is also rocking a new look and clearly isn't aware that she and Kara have a history with one another, even if that history exists in some alternate reality. The look on Kara's face says it all when she's referred to as "dangerous" and "clearly crazy" by one of the people she trusts most in her normal life.

But as we've seen up to this point, Elseworlds is going to present us with a reality that is anything but normal, even by Arrowverse standards. It had previously been revealed, via the event's official poster then later in a pair of similarly short promos, that Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) are going to be switching lives and taking up one another's identities. The Flash is Green Arrow, Green Arrow is The Flash. Based on what we see here, it looks like Supergirl is still going to be Supergirl, but just a not-so-beloved version of the powerful Kryptonian.

It's not just the core trio of heroes that will be shaking things up during this crossover. Tyler Hoechlin is coming back as Superman but this time, he's going to be rocking the character's famous black suit, which is a big deal for hardcore DC fans. He's also going to be joined by the new Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) for the first time in the Arrowverse. Perhaps most importantly, Ruby Rose will debut as Batwoman, marking the character's first ever appearance in live-action. This will also serve as the introduction of Gotham City into this universe and, if all goes well, it will lead to a Batwoman TV series. Plus, we know that the 90s Flash, John Wesley Shipp, will be suiting back up during the event as well.

There are surely going to be plenty of surprises in store when the event finally arrives next month. We've yet to see a full-length trailer, but that should be coming our way any day now. Elseworlds is set to start on Sunday, December 9 with The Flash, continuing on Monday, December 10, with Arrow, with the climax set for Tuesday, December 11, on Supergirl. The Legends of Tomorrow are sitting this one out. Be sure to check out the new teaser trailer from The CW YouTube channel below.
