Actor Elias Koteas has signed on to star in Season 3 of AMC's revived series The Killing. He will play Ed Skinner, the ex-parnter of Mireille Enos' Sarah Linden. Here's a description of the character from our report from earlier this month that broke down all the new roles this season.

"Ed Skinner is Linden's old partner, a middle-aged Dudley Do-Right whose record is spotless, save for a brief extramarital fling with a co-worker. (Could that co-worker have been Linden? Hmm... )"

Joel Kinnaman is also returning as Detective Stephen Holder, although many other cast members from the first two seasons, such as Bill Campbell and Michelle Forbes, are not returning. This 12-episode season will be set one year after Linden and Holder closed the Rosie Larson murder case. At the start of the season, Linden is no longer a detective, but she comes back when Holder is working on a missing persons case involving a runaway girl, which has connections to a previous case that Linden worked on.

Production on Season 3 of The Killing is slated to begin February 25 in Vancouver.
