Just in time for the Halloween season, AMC will be releasing a must-see docuseries for fans of the horror genre. The network has released the trailer for the seven-part series Eli Roth's History of Horror, which will premiere on Sunday, Oct. 14.The program will be under the network's AMC Visionaries banner, which also presented a six-part docuseries on James Cameron's career earlier this year.

In addition to hosting the show, Roth is on board as an executive producer. Since his directorial debut in 2002 with the film Cabin Fever, Roth has made a big name for himself in the horror genre. The filmmaker later grossed out audiences with Hostel and Hostel II, and more recently did it again with the cannibal film The Green Inferno. Not just a huge fan of the genre, Roth has plenty of personal experience in creating memorable horror films, and will serve as an excellent host for the show.

Currently, Roth's newest film, The House with a Clock in Its Walls, is playing in theaters. Starring Jack Black and Cate Blanchett, it tells the story of a young boy moving into his creepy uncle's haunted house where he uncovers its dark, magical secrets. Based on the novel of the same name by John Bellairs, the film is family friendly, which is a stark contrast compared to the director's prior movies. Fortunately for Roth, the film has surpassed expectations at the box office after a strong opening weekend.

Eli Roth's History of Horror will feature in-depth interviews with various creative minds from the horror genre. This includes other directors, actors, screenwriters, FX artists, and many others. Some of the major stars to be confirmed so far include Stephen King, Jamie Lee Curtis, Quentin Tarantino, Jordan Peele, Robert Englund, Jason Blum, Rob Zombie, Linda Blair, Norman Reedus, Tippi Hedren, Elijah Wood, and so much more. From Psycho to Get Out, the most legendary films from the past several decades will be discussed by some of the most brilliant minds in horror. Take a look at the official synopsis below.
