Dominic Cooper is playing James Bond creator Ian Fleming in an upcoming mini-series centering on his life and the inspiration behind this iconic character of both literature and cinema.

The four-part biopic is tentatively titled Fleming and chronicles the writer's younger years. The series will air on the British television station Sky Atlantic, but no U.S. airdate or network has been announced. Duncan Jones is directing another project titled Fleming, but there doesn't seem to be a connection to this series as of yet.

Dominic Cooper most recently played Henry Sturgess in Timur Bekmambetov's Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and will next be seen in Scott Waugh's action film Need for Speed.

Here is what Dominic Cooper had to say about filling the shoes of the iconic spy.

"Stepping into the shoes of the spy who not only created the enigmatic character of 007, but who fantasized about being him has to be every actor's dream."

The series will film in the U.K. and Budapest, and will air later this year on Sky Atlantic.
