Do you want to know who the new Time Lord is going to be on the next season of Doctor Who? Well, you'd better start bothering producer Russell T. Davies, because he apparently knows who Peter Capaldi's replacement is. That's right, the producer and former writer of BBC's Doctor Who recently revealed that he knows who the thirteenth Doctor is going to be. But he just isn't ready to tell us who it is yet.

The Doctor Who Producer was recently at this year's British LGBT Awards where he picked up the Natwest Lifetime Achievement Award. While speaking with GuysLikeU at the show, he was asked about who the next Doctor is going to be and his short but frustratingly sweet answer gets right to the point. Just not far enough to tell us who the new Doctor actually is. Here's what he had to say about it.

"I do know who it is."

Russell T. Davis did not give any context or any sort of nod or wink to give us any sort of thread to pull on for the purposes of speculation. So, as exciting as it is to know that the new Doctor has been chosen, as it stands, it is just as frustrating. Still, Doctor Who is a massive show internationally and if the thirteenth Doctor truly has been chosen, it doesn't seem likely that the producers will be able to keep it totally under wraps for long. Though, they will probably want to keep it a secret until a little closer to Peter Capaldi's regeneration. Since that is still several months away, we can pretty safely assume that Russell T. Davies, or anyone else for that matter, isn't going to let it slip.

Peter Capaldi had a great run of three seasons as the Doctor on Doctor Who, but he announced before the start of Doctor Who Season 10 that this season was going to be his last. It is also going to be the last season of the beloved sci-fi series with Steven Moffat, who was responsible for resurrecting Doctor Who, as showrunner. Instead, Doctor Who season 11 will be bringing on Broadchurch's Chris Chibnall as the new showrunner, who will have a new Doctor to contend with as well. And, assuming Russell T. Davies isn't messing with us, it sounds like he knows who that person is going to be.

Many names have been thrown around in terms of who is going to be the new Doctor. Ben Whishaw emerged as an early frontrunner, but recently Luke Treadaway (Fortitude) and Sacha Dhawan (Iron Fist) have seemingly emerged as new favorites. There has also been a lot of talk that we may be getting the first female Doctor, with Doctor Strange star Tilda Swinton's name being tossed around quite a bit. All we can do is speculate, but the Doctor has been chosen. Now, the waiting game. In the meantime, you can check out the interview with Russell T. Davies for yourself below.
