BBC has released the first poster and a new clip for the highly-anticipated Doctor Who Christmas Special, which has been officially titled "Children in Need". Before we get to the clip and poster, though, the network has added to the speculation that actress Jenna Coleman, who plays Clara Oswald, will be leaving the series in the near future. The official plot rundown for "Children in Need" reveals that the Doctor and Clara "face their last Christmas," but it isn't known yet if "Children in Need" will be her last episode, or if she is leaving at some point during the upcoming Season 9. Check out the official plot details below.

In Doctor Who, the Doctor and Clara face their Last Christmas. Trapped on an Arctic base, under attack from terrifying creatures, who are you going to call? Santa Claus! Will this really be the Last Christmas for the Doctor and Clara? And what exactly are these terrifying creatures? It's not the first time the Doctor has visited the Arctic of course. It's previously been home to an Ice Warrior in Cold War - and the Cybermen! The episode will star Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman, Nick Frost, Michael Troughton and Nathan McMullen.

It's possible that the series may introduce the Time Lord's new companion at the end of the Christmas Special, forgoing an official announcement to surprise fans tuning in for "Children in Need". At any rate, Jenna Coleman is featured in the poster, alongside Peter Capaldi as the Time Lord and special guest star Nick Frost as Santa Claus. She is also featured in a new clip, where Clara doesn't quite believe that she's talking to the real Kris Kringle. Take a look at the poster and the new footage below.
