HBO dropped some surprise footage just a few hours before the 91st Academy Awards. In the lengthy sizzle reel, we are treated to the very first footage from the Deadwood movie, along with some pretty crazy new footage from Game of Thrones and the Watchmen series. 2019 is going to be a huge year for the network and the three aforementioned titles are just scratching the surface as for what was just teased to be released in the near future.

First up is the highly anticipated first footage from the Deadwood movie. Timothy Olyphant is back as Seth Bullock and we first see him with a gun outside the Star & Bullock Hardware store. The scene then quickly switches to a conversation with Ian McShane's Al Swearengen in the Gem Saloon. Olyphant says, "My job ain't to follow the law, Al. My job is to interpret it." It's brief, but it's awesome and a lot cooler than the first-look photographs that were released a few weeks ago.

The Watchmen series is up next and teases a fire, which is being watched by a mystery character. Though the show has been in production for quite some time now, we still don't know much about it. The first-look at the show offers up a lot more questions than answers and many fans are a bit frustrated as the wait continues. However, this is a great marketing technique that will pay off on the long run. Though fans haven't been waiting as long as Deadwood fans, the wait for the new series has been pretty long.

Game of Thrones shows off a dragon flying overhead and teases what looks like the beginning of a battle. We then get a shot of Arya Stark, who looks like she is more than willing to fight with a sly smile on her face. We're now just a few weeks away from the hit HBO series coming back for one final time and the stakes are high. We've yet to see a full trailer for the show, which makes sense since HBO really doesn't even need to promote the show. However, it has been used to great effect to promote their 2019 programming.

Other shows that are teased in the HBO sizzle reel feature the return of Big Little Lies, Barry,, Native Son, Los Espookys, Mrs. Fletcher, Succession, His Dark Materials, and many more. One of the better reveals is the first footage of The Righteous Gemstones, which stars John Goodman, Danny McBride, and Adam Devine. Sadly, a release date has not yet been announced for the show, but it will be premiering sometime this year. Let's hope that HBO announces the release date sooner rather than later. You can check out all of the aforementioned footage below, thanks to the HBO YouTube channel.
