Netflix has released the first full-length trailer for Dead to Me season 2. The Emmy-nominated dark comedy stars Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini. Season 2 of the hit series finds Jen and Judy in a rough spot. They're not doing okay. Not even a little. With their lives spinning out of control, they're left clinging to each other - and their secrets. It's been a nearly a year since Netflix debuted the first season and fans are looking forward to seeing what kind of situation Jen and Judy are in now.

Dead to Me is about Jen (Christina Applegate), who is a sardonic widow determined to solve her husband's recent hit-and-run murder. Judy (Linda Cardellini) is an optimistic free spirit who's recently suffered her own tragic loss. When the two women meet at a support group, they become unlikely friends despite their polar-opposite personalities. But as they bond over bottles of wine, Entenmann's cookies and a shared affinity for The Facts of Life, Judy desperately tries to shield Jen from a shocking secret that could destroy her life as she knows it.

Dead to Me stars Christina Applegate (Jen), Linda Cardellini (Judy), James Marsden (Steve), Ed Asner (Abe) and Brandon Scott (Nick). The show has been praised for the chemistry between Applegate and Cardellini, which elevates the mutual grief storyline. Last July, Netflix announced that the series was on track to be streamed by over 30 million viewers within its first month of release on the streaming platform and they are looking to, at the very least, duplicate those numbers for season 2. Dead to Me season 2 is all set to premiere May 8th, exclusively on Netflix. Fans who need to catch up can currently stream all of season 1 right now to prepare for the new season.

Both Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini weren't sure what to make of Dead to Me at first. However, it all clicked by the time they finished reading the pilot script. "I love that it was suspenseful but also funny. The comedy's coming out of complete and utter pain and grief," said Applegate when reflecting on her first impressions of the Netflix original. As for the grief in the series, both actresses were able to tap into their real-life experiences, which was, at times, exhausting for them both. However, it has paid off as fans of season 1 can't wait to see what Jen and Judy get into next.

Dead to Me, created by Liz Feldman (2 Broke Girls, One Big Happy), is an addictive dark comedy that dives into the painfully unfiltered, weirdly funny waters of grief, loss and forgiveness. Christina Applegate serves as an executive producer on the series, along with Will Ferrell and Adam McKay. The three produce alongside Jessica Elbaum (I'm Sorry) of Gloria Sanchez Productions.
