NBC has plans to adapt DC Comics' Constantine for the small screen with The Mentalist's Daniel Cerone and The Dark Knight's David S. Goyer writing the show's pilot.

The comic series centers on magician and conman John Constantine, who reluctantly turns into a supernatural detective. The once petty criminal is tasked with defending the human race against dark forces.

The character was created by graphic novel writer Alan Moore. The antihero first appeared in the horror series The Saga of the Swamp Thing back in 1985. He went on to get his own series with the title Hellblazer. The character also saw his own big screen appearance with Constantine starring Keanu Reeves.

DC has a number of projects in development for TV including the Arrow spinoff The Flash and the Commissioner Gordan series titled Gotham. No casting details have been released for the series, so stay tuned to find out more.
