Marion Zimmer Bradley's popular sci-fi Darkover novel series might be getting a television adaptation with producers Ilene Kahn Power and Elizabeth Stanley.

The producers have secured the rights to the renowned novels and have already pitched the project to one cabler and are making presentations to others as well.

The series would be based on Marion Zimmer Bradley's 20 books, some of which detail the colonization on a new planet where the inhabitants begin their own species.

"The novels have a huge fan following throughout the science fiction and fantasy communities internationally and Marion Zimmer Bradley was an inspiration to and a nurturer of many notable speculative fiction writers," said Kahn Power.

Marion Zimmer Bradley's estate first believed the Darkover books would best be adapted as a theatrical film, but Ilene Kahn Power and Elizabeth Stanley convinced the estate that TV was a more viable option.
