Netflix's Daredevil TV show is without a doubt one of the most groundbreaking shows to ever grace the small screen. With it's layered characters, action scenes filled with gruesome violence, and intriguing story lines, there really isn't anything like it on TV. With two seasons under its belt, it seems a no brainer that there will be a Season 3. Or, will there?

As everybody knows, The Defenders, coming to us via Netflix and Marvel, is shooting at the end of 2016. This features the characters of Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) as they team up to battle various forms of injustice. For us Netflixers, this is pretty darn awesome. We're going to be essentially getting a 13 hour movie with all of these diverse characters.

At the same time, because of The Defenders, one has to wonder why Netflix and Marvel would continue to spin their wheels with separate shows for all these characters? Sure, it would probably be a content cash cow. And yes, there's plenty to draw from story wise. However, there is only a finite amount of cash, and it might not make much business sense to move forward with stand alone shows after the characters join forces.

Nothing is etched in stone, however. There is still the possibility of a Daredevil Season 3. With all the unresolved plot points, it doesn't seem like they could all be dealt with in The Defenders show. There are too many characters with their own issues (and in the case of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, issues with each other), that it would make resolving or even exploring Daredevil's issues next to impossible.

So, if there is going to be a third season (and we sure hope to hades there is!) there are some things we would like to see. Things that should be illuminated if for no other reason than they underscore just how Daredevil (and Netflix and Marvel) broke every rule in the realm of TV. What we bring you are these thing we hope we see in Daredevil season 3.

9 Elektra's Return

Elektra

At the end of the second season we saw Elektra being lowered into the earth. She was ensconced in a stone coffin and one can't help imagining that this final scene ultimately foreshadows her return as Black Sky. As she was in the clutches of The Hand, the group Daredevil (and Elektra) were previously battling, it seems safe to assume that she will come back and now be something (or someone) that Daredevil no longer knows and is giving him an even bigger headache. What does this mean? Once again the viewers win because chances are they will go head to head in a confrontation that will be nothing short of astounding. This, or something like it, really needs to be the lynchpin of a potential third season.

8 More Punisher

The Punisher

Jon Bernthal came on the screen as the Punisher and just about stole the show from everybody he shared it with. This is no small feat considering he was going up against one of America's greatest actors in Vincent D'Onofrio (Kingpin), as well as a cast of truly solid thespians. Now, it's been said, by Bernthal himself, that the character he played on Season Two of Daredevil was not the Punisher as we know him. The Punisher is out for justice and believes that he can use the law to achieve that. Whoever it was that we saw in Daredevil doesn't believe in anything. He is hellbent on getting satisfaction at any cost. Well, whichever version shows up, lets please have a lot of them in Season 3 (even though we know he's getting his own Netflix series). Daredevil truly seemed at his breaking point dealing with Elektra, Stick, the Hand and his plummeting law practice. Frank Castle was a thorn in his side that not only wouldn't go away, he insisted on wedging himself deeper and deeper into Matt Murdock's life. We need a lot more of this (and maybe a little less of the other distractions) if there is indeed a third go round. Perhaps they actually work together for a change?

7 Matt and Foggy Reunion

Matt and Foggy

This just seems like a no brainer. The chemistry between Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson is truly something special. While I am fairly certain that these two will rejoin forces, it would be awesome if it could happen in a way that is on a level playing field relationship-wise. Matt Murdock wanted nothing more than to protect his friends, and spare them any needless suffering. How about Foggy having Matt's back for a change? Once these two make nice it would be great to see them work together and be successful both fighting crime and litigating against it in court. Note to the show runners, have it happen smartly and preferably in the first few episodes of season three. If it has to happen later perhaps an interesting subplot could be Foggy prosecuting Matt in some way? Then through that they once again team up.

6 More Kingpin

Kingpin

Have Wilson Fisk/Kingpin appear in more than just a few episodes! Speaking of Vincent D'Onofrio...This guy barely moved in the first half of season one, yet he conveyed more menace than any other villain Marvel has put on any screen thus far. Having him appear in Season 2 of Daredevil was an awesome achievement. In today's day and age of everything being on the internet, it was truly surprising to see him show up in an orange jumpsuit ruling the big house. Season 3 is going to need more of this. Perhaps he and Frank Castle can continue their unholy alliance? Maybe they can even find a way to beat the hell out of each other again? Whatever they do with Wilson Fisk just make sure it is done often.

5 More Stick

Stick

Look, Matt Murdock and Stick (Scott Glenn) have a troubled relationship. In many ways the student (Murdock) has completely surpassed the teacher (Stick). However, there's a lot that Murdock doesn't know. Namely things regarding The Hand, Black Sky and other mortal threats that could challenge humanity. The biggest problem for Murdock and Stick isn't their enemies. It is each other. Now, I am not suggesting a complete detente. Stick wants the love of Murdock's life dead after all, but these guys could work together more effectively couldn't they? Not every collaboration between the two has to devolve in a contest of who can kill who first. Season 3 could really explore the father/son dynamic between the two and why each one will not let the other go.

4 Make Karen Page More Than Just a Bystander

Karen Page

Don't just make Karen Page a passive bystander anymore! Make no mistake, Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) certainly serves a purpose. And yes, she does do more than just watch things happen, but it seems odd for a such a smart girl (and show) to have taken two seasons to discover who Daredevil is. And, as you can recall, she doesn't really put it together now does she? Why not make her get her hands dirty? As evidenced by the first two seasons, this is character who certainly has demons. Why not have her exercise them a little bit? It certainly would give her more to do if she could engage in some battle scenes. Being a journalist is great, but does anybody really think she could make a sustainable living as a journalist digging into Frank Castle's past? Lets bring her to the forefront a little and have her kick some bad guy butt!

3 Less Nagging From Claire Temple

Claire Temple

In the first season she was Matt Murdock's conscience. In the second season she occupied the same space. Couldn't Claire Temple be more involved as well? Perhaps she and Karen page team up in Season 3? (Spinoff show, anyone?) We know that Temple is a great nurse. We also know that no matter how many times she tells Matt Murdock, "This is the last time" she's going to help him again. Maybe she could even turn on Daredevil? Perhaps Black Sky somehow gets her to work against him? Whatever Claire Temple does in a potential Season 3, she's got to do a bit more than just complain.

2 Karen and Foggy Hook-Up

Karen Foggy

While we're at it could Karen Page end up with Foggy? Aside from sight, Matt Murdock has everything. Somehow he's got a dirt cheap apartment that is entirely modern. He runs their now defunct law firm but, even when they were a team, Murdock was front and center of the law practice. Lastly, no matter how much Foggy tries, Matt always gets the girls (I'm assuming he's just never met Foggy's bed buddy Marci Stahl (Amy Rutberg), otherwise he surely would've have swooned her away), and Foggy has no problem with this. He even gets Karen Page when it's highly apparent Foggy has a thing for her. Add to this that Foggy has proven himself to Karen time and again, while Matt Murdock has a repeatedly let her down. #getkarenandfoggytogether!

1 Bullseye

Bullseye

If Season 3 is the end, Daredevil better hit Bullseye. As much as we are told that a Season 3 of Daredevil is up in the air, the thought of how that season might take shape has to be on the show runner's minds. Charlie Cox has even gone on record saying that he would like to see Bullseye make an appearance in that potential season. Who knows, perhaps they are saving him for The Defenders show? Whatever they are doing,  this villain should certainly figure in here somewhere. Colin Farrell did very credible work in the 2003 film. However, something tells us that in 2016, with horror movies maturing, we might get a character of a more maniacal ilk. If that's the case and Bullseye really does make an appearance, that could turn up the voltage of this full throttled show even higher. With Bullseye's uncanny ability to successfully use anything as a weapon, this could give Matt Murdock plenty of headaches. Especially, if Bullseye gets close enough to Karen Page...
