Shudder's Creepshow season 2 has just added Marilyn Manson, Ali Larter, C. Thomas Howell, and more to its cast. The hit series is currently filming in Atlanta with a 2021 release planned. The horror streaming service has not yet announced a concrete release date as season 2 was delayed earlier this year because of the public health crisis. Regardless, horror fans won't have to wait too much longer for some new Creepshow material with the animated Halloween special debuting this week.
Creepshow season 2 was previously announced with Anna Camp, Adam Pally, Keith David, Ashley Laurence, and Josh McDermitt attached to star. Shudder has just announced that musician/actor Marilyn Manson (Sons of Anarchy), Ali Larter (The Rookie), Iman Benson (BlackAF), Ryan Kwanten (True Blood), Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator), C. Thomas Howell (Soul Man), Denise Crosby (Star Trek: The Next Generation), Breckin Meyer (Robot Chicken), Ted Raimi (The Evil Dead), Kevin Dillon (Entourage), and Eric Edelstein (We Bare Bears) will also star in season 2. No other details have been revealed about who the newcomers will be playing.
Creepshow season 2 will consist of 6 brand-new episodes and showrunner Greg Nicotero is excited for horror fans to see it. "The cast and crew have a level of excitement and enthusiasm I've never seen before and it's inspiring," said Nicotero after returning to the set after a lengthy break. "So many of us in the entertainment industry have been waiting for the day we can begin to do what we do best-to have some fun together creating new worlds, new adventures and new thrills." The Creepshow cast and crew have been in their Atlanta bubble in order to stay safe and keep everybody healthy.
Shudder previously revealed initial details about four of the Creepshow season 2 segments, which will be directed by Greg Nicotero. Shapeshifters Anonymous Parts 1 and 2 is written by Greg Nicotero and is based on a short story by J.A. Konrath. It's about an unlucky soul who finds himself in need of a werewolf support group. Pesticide is written by Frank Dietz, and it tells the story of an exterminator who makes an infernal bargain. Model Kid is written by John Esposito, and it is about a 12-year-old monster fan who turns to hand-built model kits to escape his unhappy reality.
Creepshow debuted on Shudder back in September 2019 and quickly became one of the streaming service's most-watched shows. Horror fans were hoping that season 2 would have debuted by now, but that was just not possible. With that being said, Greg Nicotero and crew did not sit around waiting to get back to work. Instead, they crafted "A Creepshow Animated Special}, which will premiere Thursday, October 29th shortly after 12:01 am ET/9:01 pm PT. Hopefully season 2 will premiere earlier, rather than later in 2021. Deadline was the first to announce the new cast members of Creepshow season 2.
