Famous character actress Conchata Ferrell has a long road of recovery ahead of her following a heart attack and subsequent move to a long-term healthcare facility. Best known for co-starring as Berta the sarcastic housekeeper on the hit comedy series Two and a Half Men, Ferrell is currently enduring the "biggest fight of her life," this according to her husband, Arnie. Presently, she was transferred to the facility following a four-week stint in the ICU. Word is Ferrell has been battling an infection since the start of the year, checking in to the hospital in May after falling ill.

According to Arnie, Conchata Ferrell had only been in the ICU for a couple of days when the sitcom star suddenly went into cardiac arrest. The heart attack lasted for about ten minutes, reportedly. After pulling through, Ferrell would spend the next several weeks in ICU before her recent transfer to a long-term treatment center, now spending her days living with a respirator and dialysis. Ferrell is said to be "stable and semi-conscious," meaning she is "somewhat aware of her surroundings," though she is still unable to communicate with anyone.

Health and safety measures enforced by the hospital to ensure social distancing also mean that Arnie is unable to visit with his wife at this time. However, he remains in constant contact with her nurse and says the medical staff are doing all they can to assist Ferrell with her healing. "It's going to be a while before there's any recovery," Arnie tells TMZ. "It's all neurological. There's nothing we can do to speed up the process. We are hoping for the best."

Ferrell's health struggles this year were also reported on back in February as well. After acquiring an infection of the kidneys that spread to her blood, the actress had another weeks-long stay in the ICU. Initially bedridden, she transitioned to her home in Charleston to receive continued care with physical therapists multiple times a day. At the time, Ferrell credited her husband for being there by her side with every step through her recovery, noting Arnie was "working tirelessly" to aid her.

Two and a Half Men aired for twelve seasons between 2003 and 2015. Initially, the series followed the Harper family: brothers Charlie (Charlie Sheen) and Alan (Jon Cryer), along with Alan's young son, Jake (Angus T. Jones). While Sheen and Jones would later depart the series (barring some special appearances from the latter in later episodes), Ferrell was always a constant, serving as the fan favorite character Berta for the entire series run. The show might have ended about five years ago, but it continues to run in syndication regularly on television.

One thing that's clear is that Ferrell could use some positive thoughts and vibes sent her way. Let's all wish her the very best for a full recovery so she can head back home with Arnie as soon as possible. Some fans have already been offering their own messages of support online using the hashtag #GetWellSoonBerta. This news comes to us from TMZ.
