Comedy Central today announced that Rob Lowe will be this year's Roastee. The Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe (#LoweRoast) will take place in Los Angeles with the tape and airdate to be announced at a later date. Here's what Kent Alterman, President, Comedy Central, had to say in his statement.

"Rob Lowe is handsome, talented, successful and handsome. He needs to be roasted."

Rob Lowe most recently starred on the Fox sitcom The Grinder, which debuted this fall but was cancelled after just one season. He also provided the voice for Simba in Disney Channel's animated series The Lion Guard, and in Comedy Central's own animated series Moonbeam City, which was also cancelled after just one season. Here's what the roastee himself, Rob Lowe, had to say in his statement.

"What a thrill to once again be following in Justin Bieber's footsteps. I look forward to a night of hilarious jokes recycled from the James Franco Roast. I would like to express my gratitude to the members of my family who have passed away and therefore will not have to endure what promises to be a very special evening."

Rob Lowe will next be seen on the big screen in Monster Trucks, which is set to hit theaters nationwide on January 13, 2017. He is currently in production on How to Be a Latin Lover, where he stars alongside Kristen Bell, Michael Cera, Raquel Welch, Rob Riggle and Rob Corddry. That movie is currently set for release on April 28, 2017.

Both Comedy Central and Rob Lowe also took to Twitter to announce the news, and reveal the artwork for his roast.
