Just this year, McMillian appeared in an episode of the long-running TLC show for season 8 back in March. While a cause of death has not yet been given, her family says the reality television star died on Tuesday at a hospital in Louisiana. She was 41 years old.

"TLC is saddened to learn of the loss of Coliesa McMillian, who shared her story on My 600lb Life. Our deepest condolences to her family at this difficult time," the network tweeted in the wake of McMillian's death.

"I've allowed food to waste my life," McMillian had also said of her eating habits when she appeared on the show. "It's taken over my life, and I'm exhausted. I'm exhausted of this life. Living like this is not living. If I don't lose this weight, I'm going to die. I know I'm going to die."

McMillian's life leading up to the end was not easy. She lost her fiance due to a car accident prior to her stint on My 600lb. Life. It has also been reported that McMillian suffered from a heart attack shortly before appearing on television, which may have contributed to her health problems. To manage her weight, which had climbed to 643 pounds while on the TLC program, McMillian had also opted for surgery for further assistance. Reportedly, she suffered complications from the surgery and had to be placed on life support. The family had said McMillian was recovering, but noted that it would be a "very long and difficult road ahead."

My 600-lb Life has been a staple of the TLC network since 2012, reigning strong as one of the most-watched reality television shows. Each episode follows morbidly obese individuals who weigh at least 600 pounds with the show documenting their attempts to lose weight and maintain healtheir lifestyles. The show was originally supposed to be a miniseries, but due to its popularity, it was turned into a long-running television series. Many of the subjects have been revisited with a Where Are They Now? spinoff, updating viewers on how the weight management is going for many different people.

Sadly, McMillian is the latest of several My 600-lb Life stars to have since died after appearing on the program. Earlier this year, season 5 star James King passed away from multiple organ failure. Others have also died during the filming of their respective episodes. This includes Rob Buchel, who suffered a fatal heart attack while shooting an episode for season 6. Last year, season 7 subject Kelly Mason also died while her episode was in production. Several former stars have since filed a lawsuit against the show's production company, alleging negligence and a failure to cover medical costs.

McMillian is survived by four daughters and many brothers and sisters. Our thoughts are with them at this incredibly difficult time. May she rest in peace. This news comes to us from TMZ.
