We have a brand new trailer for the Charmed Reboot. The CW has released the new trailer online, following the debut of the show's first episode at San Diego Comic-Con. While the rest of us are going to have to wait a while to see the first episode in its entirety for ourselves, this new trailer gives us a better look at this very different new take on the series. It's still three sisters who discover that they're witches, but this isn't the same old show just being dusted off with a new title sequence for a new generation.

Previously, the network revealed a rather lengthy trailer previewing the upcoming reboot. But with the Charmed reboot set to premiere this fall, and with the first episode debuting at San Diego Comic-Con, they had to release something new online to help get people on board. This reboot of the series, which originally starred Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs and Alyssa Milano, later subbing in Rose McGowan, has been in the works for quite some time and is set to be a big part of The CW's schedule this fall. Bringing the first episode to SDCC shows that they are doing their best to make this thing a hit

This reboot, much like the original series, centers on three sisters. This time around, they live in a college town and, after the tragic loss of their mother, discover they are powerful witches. The grouping of sisters not only look a lot different than the previous iteration of Charmed, but by the looks of things, their relationship and the world they inhabit is also unlike what came before. The sisters are going to be vanquishing supernatural demons, tearing down the patriarchy, and maintaining familial bonds.

The CW's Charmed reboot is produced by Jennie Snyder Urman, who came up with the story for this new take, along with Jessica O'Toole, and Amy Rardin. All three of the core producers worked previously on Jane the Virgin. The cast for the reboot includes Melonie Diaz (Fruitvale Station), Sarah Jeffery (Shades of Blue) and Madeleine Mantock (Into the Badlands), who play Mel and Maggie Vera and Macy Vaughn, respectively. Other cast members include Ser'Darius Blain (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle) and Rupert Evans (The Man in the High Castle).

The original Charmed debuted in October 1998 on what was known as The WB at the time and ran for eight seasons, totaling 178 episodes. Zenescope Entertainment published a series of comic books that served as a continuation of the series, offering a season 9 and season 10 to fans. CBS initially announced a reboot in 2013, but plans for that iteration were eventually scrapped, ultimately leading to the version we have coming our way now. The new Charmed airs Sundays on The CW this fall after Supergirl. That should make for a pretty killer lineup of powerful ladies to round out the weekends.
