Family Feud host Steve Harvey is well known for his amusing reactions to bizarre answers given by contestants on the popular game show, but one particularly strange answer on a recent episode actually resulted in the family-friendly host dropping an F-bomb. The flub came during a Celebrity Family Feud edition of the television series, featuring old and new sports stars from the National Football League, with former Buffalo Bill defensive end Bruce Smith providing the swear-inducing answer during the game show's Fast Money round.
With fellow NFL legend Michael Irvin going first, the Final Money round asked the question, "If Captain Hook was moonlighting as a handyman, he might replace his hook with what tool?" Like Irvin, Smith had responded with "hammer," only for Harvey to tell him to pick another answer as "hammer" had already been used. With the clock ticking, Smith casually then casually responded with the next word that came to mind, which was "penis." Initially, Harvey didn't react to the bizarre answer, moving forward with the Fast Money round by reading the next question.
As the remark registers moments later, Harvey cuts himself off mid-sentence to ask the Family Feud audience, "What the f--- did he say?" The audience, along with Smith and the other players, all join each other in laughter as Harvey apologizes for his foul language. "I'm sorry. I swear, I'm sorry. That just came out. I don't even know where that came from," Harvey explains. Viewers of the show might be used to some of the answers blowing Harvey's mind, but this appears to be the first time many of them had ever heard him straight up drop an F-bomb.
Additionally, Steve Harvey also predicts that the clip is going to be getting a lot of play online in the days ahead. "Your ass is going on YouTube, though," Harvey told Smith on the show. With everyone else in the studio roarding with laughter, Harvey adds: "Oh, you're going to be the greatest clip ever played. 'Cause Captain Hook replaced his hook with a penis!" Of course, Harvey and the other had a chance to share another laugh at the answer again when "penis" was displayed on the answer board at the end of the round. You may not be surprised to learn that the answer was worth zero points.
Fortunately, Smith's other answers were much better, so even with the mistake, Smith's team managed to score over 200 points in the Fast Money round to effectively win the game. The winning Hall of Fame team was competing for charity on behalf of the Professional Athletes Foundations, described as, "the leading foundation assisting NFL Former Players through health and educational resources and the GU Player Assistance Trust Fund." A prize of $25,000 was raised as a result of the winning game. New episodes of Celebrity Family Feud air Sunday nights at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
