Another IT movie star has joined the cast of Hulu's upcoming Stephen King series, Castle Rock. Chosen Jacobs, who plays Mike Hanlon in IT, has landed a recurring role on the series. Bill Skarsgard, who portrays Pennywise in IT, is also part of the ensemble cast of the series, which means this will serve as something of an IT reunion. Though, neither actor is portraying the character they played on the big screen adaptation of King's novel about the killer clown. Still, the casting should come as welcome news for fans of the author's work.

Chosen Jacobs will play Wendell Deaver, the son of Henry Deaver (Andre Holland) in Castle Rock. Beyond that, few details have been revealed. That makes sense though, as everyone involved with the series so far has been very tight-lipped. We know for sure that the series will take place in the famed Maine town for which the series is named and that it will be inspired by Stephen King's body of work. Beyond that, much of what we're going to see in Castle Rock remains a mystery, even with the intriguing footage released so far from the trailer and the Super Bowl spot.

Fans of Stephen King's work will likely recognize the town of Castle Rock, as it has been a major fixture in the author's universe for quite some time. The town first debuted in King's 1979 novel The Dead Zone and has appeared in several other novels since, including Cujo and The Body. Castle Rock has also appeared in stories like Uncle Otto's Truck, Mrs. Todd's Shortcut, The Dark Half, The Sun Dog and It Grows on You. So Castle Rock is a rather significant location within Stephen King's multiverse. By bringing in two actors who starred in IT helps add to the mystery of this whole thing. Not to mention that Sissy Spacek, who starred in the original movie adaptation of Carrie, is also part of the Castle Rock cast.

The footage we've seen so far from Castle Rock is very encouraging, but doesn't reveal all that much. There have been references to Stephen King's works like Creepshow, The Shawshank Redemption, Salem's Lot, Misery, Cujo and IT, among others. The series comes from J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot Productions and Warner Bros. Television and is set to debut on Hulu this summer. Hulu hasn't revealed an exact release date just yet, but we know that the first season will consist of 10 episodes.

Aside from this little IT reunion taking place on Hulu's Castle Rock, Bill Skarsgard (who played Pennwise) and Chosen Jacobs will reunite on the big screen again as well for IT: Chapter Two, which is set for release on September 6, 2019, and looks to begin filming this summer. As for how they'll cross paths, if at all on Castle Rock remains to be seen, but this is shaping up to be yet another very exciting Stephen King adaptation. This news comes to us courtesy of Deadline.
