Joss Whedon announced yesterday that he was stepping down from the Batgirl movie and then it was quietly revealed that he's revisiting Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Whedon is co-writing the comic series for Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 12: The Reckoning, which should be exciting news for fans of the hit show and Whedon's work. The hit series was the first thing that launched the director/writer's name into the stratosphere and while a lot of people know him for The Avengers, the majority of people know him for his work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 12: The Reckoning is Dark Horse Comics' latest Buffy series and as previously noted, it will be co-written by Joss Whedon and longtime Buffy writer Christos Gage. Georges Jeanty is also returning to illustrate the new adventures. Whedon hasn't been involved in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer comics since 2011's Season 9 and this is a welcome return for the writer/director. Gage and Jeanty last worked on the Season 11 and Season 8, respectively.
