Bob Saget is still there for his former Full House co-star Lori Loughlin after the latter did time for her involvement in the 2019 college admissions scandal. At the end of December, Loughlin was released from prison after serving a two-month sentence. Many have criticized the sentence as being too short, including The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star and fellow sitcom actor Janet Hubert.

Naturally, other cast members from Full House and its spinoff Fuller House have consistently been asked about Loughlin's alleged crime and subsequent prison time ever since the news first broke. Bob Saget and the others have stopped short of condemning Loughlin, despite immense social media pressure on social media to do so. In December 2019, Saget had said that he would stand by Loughlin, noting at the time, "I don't cut people that I love from my life unless they shot me in the eye."

Opening up a little bit more about the situation on Michael Rosenbaum's Inside of You podcast, Saget clarifies that he still has a lot of love for Lori, even if that gets him some heat from people online. As explained by Saget on the podcast:

"I love her. I've been asked that a lot. I've gotten whittled down. I just love her. I don't know, I'd like to see a lot of other people doing time. I don't know. We're in such a place where no matter what I say I'm screwed, you know, and I just love her. That's where I am on that."

Although they were nowhere to be seen in Fuller House, Saget also revealed that he's still close with his TV daughters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. The pair were the only original cast members not to appear in the spinoff series as they've since retired from acting. Even so, as Saget regales, he keeps in touch with the Olsen Twins just as much as he does with Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin.

"Ashley and Mary-Kate, I love [them] so much. When I'm in New York or when they're here, when we can, we see each other... There's no favorite... They're all friends [of mine], it's not like they're kids. But Jodie was probably more like a kid to me. Ashley and Mary-Kate are more like friends because I kind of got the whole thing of everything they're about. Candace is a friend. They've all been there for me in a big way when I've gone through hard stuff."

When Lori Loughlin was charged, she was immediately fired by Netflix from her job playing Aunt Becky on Fuller House. She was also let go from the Hallmark series When Calls the Heart as a result of the news. Since getting released from prison, it's been reported that Loughlin is hoping to revive her acting career, and that's not outside the realm of possibility. Felicity Huffman, who was also a part of the college admissions scandal, has since picked up a new acting gig for a lead role in a new pilot.
