Season 11 of The Big Bang Theory went out in true style last night with a ton of guest stars for the wedding between Sheldon and Amy, including Mark Hamill, who played himself and officiated the wedding. The Star Wars actor is a huge fan of the sitcom and was happy that they asked him to join in on the festivities. As for welcoming Hamill to the set, the cast and crew of The Big Bang Theory share their thoughts in a new behind-the-scenes featurette that was recently released. There are spoilers for last night's episode below, so read ahead at your own risk.

It was announced a few weeks ago that Mark Hamill would be guest starring in the season finale of The Big Bang Theory, which immediately made fans of the hit sitcom extremely happy. However, in a new behind-the-scenes video, Mayim Biyalik, who is dressed in a wedding gown for the interview can barely contain her excitement about having the Star Wars icon in the momentous episode between her Amy character and Sheldon's (Jim Parsons) wedding. Biyalik had this to say.

"After we had Stephen Hawking on (the show), people would say, who else would you wanna have on the show? You can't think of anyone bigger than Stephen Hawking, but then Mark Hamill is on this episode."

Mark Hamill plays himself in the season finale of The Big Bang Theory and shows up at the door of Simon Helberg's Howard Wolowitz, after Wolowitz found Hamill's dog. Wolowitz learns that the dog's name is Bark Hamill, which is pretty awesome, before beginning to gush. As it turns out, Hamill and Helberg have known each other since Helberg was a child. Mark Hamill's oldest son went to school with Simon, so it probably wasn't as big of a shock to his system as it was for the rest of the cast.

The Big Bang Theory is a show that Mark Hamill watches, so he was just as excited to be on the set as the cast was to meet him. Hamill praised the show in the new behind-the-scenes video and admitted that he shares a common trait with much of the cast. Hamill also called the show "relatable." The actor explains.

"I'm a nerd myself, that's why I think (the show) is so relatable. Here, you have these people that you couldn't touch intellect-wise, but they have such common, everyday passions for comic books, and video games and all of that stuff."

The episode aired on CBS last night, but Mark Hamill was unable to watch it because he was at the Solo: A Star Wars Story world premiere instead. Hamill is the third person from the Star Wars universe to guest star on The Big Bang Theory. James Earl Jones as well as Carrie Fisher both played themselves in previous seasons.
