The CW has released the first official trailer for the upcoming third season of the Javicia Leslie-led Batwoman series, while teasing the return of some classic Batman villains. It certainly seems that the Mad Hatter is making his return to Gotham, as someone is using the classic Batman villain's mind-controlling technology. The plot for the upcoming third season connects to season two's finale cliffhanger, in which multiple Batman trophies get lost in one of Gotham's rivers. Check out the recently released trailer for Batwoman season 3 below.

The Batwoman season 3 trailer, which you can check out above, also teases the arrival of other classic Batman villains including Killer Croc, Poison Ivy, and more. Poison Ivy was one of the villains teased at the end of season 2, with Bridget Regan cast to play the iconic DC supervillain. A short fighting sequence in the trailer also shows Batwoman trying to strangle a scaly monster, who could potentially be The CW's version of Killer Croc. Although this is just the first trailer for the upcoming third season of Batwoman, it is expected that more heroes and supervillains will be making appearances throughout the next several episodes.

The brand new trailer also gives us our first look at Victoria Cartagena's new iteration of Renee Montoya. The third season of The CW's Batwoman was announced in February 2021, and is set to premiere next month. Season 2 revealed Ryan Wilder becoming the new Batwoman, as the heroine takes down the Black Mask. Now it seems that she's definitely ready to confront more prominent members of Batman's rogue gallery.
