Bryan Singer has signed on to direct the pilot episode Battle Creek, which was given a straight-to-series order back in September.

Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan wrote the pilot script with House creator David Shore, which follows Detective Russ Agnew (Dean Winters) and FBI agent Milton Chamberlain, who have contrasting world views but team up to clean up the streets of Battle Creek, Michigan. Vince Gilligan originally pitched the series to CBS back in 2002, although the network never ordered a pilot. Kal Penn, Janet McTeer and Aubrey Dollar have signed on to co-star in the crime drama series.

David Shore is serving as showrunner, while executive producing alongside Vince Gilligan, Bryan Singer and Mark Johnson, with Jason Taylor and Erin Gunn serving as producers. It isn't known when production will begin on the series.

While he is best known for directing big screen blockbusters such as X-Men and the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past, Bryan Singer also directed the pilot episode of House, and served as executive producer of the series for its eight-season run on Fox. He also produced the ABC series Dirty Sexy Money and the web series H+.
