Fans who attended New York Comic Con over the weekend got to see the first look at the new animated movie Batman: Bad Blood, which is expected to debut on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD formats in early 2016. In case you couldn't make it to NYCC at the Javits Center last weekend, the new episode of DC All Access has revealed the first trailer for the latest DC Universe Original Movie. The web series also spoke with Jason O'Mara, who provides the voice of Batman, who helped break down the plot.

"Basically, it picks up with Batman kicking ass, as he does, and gets a little out of his depth. I'm just going to tell you what happens. Batwoman comes along, and basically messes everything up. No, she doesn't, but she's using guns, and that's not really Batman's thing. She gets herself into a little bit of trouble, and Batman sacrifices himself, in order to save her, and is never seen from or heard from again. That is the opening two minutes."

The supporting voice cast includes Stuart Allan as Robin, Sean Maher as Nightwing, James Garrett as Alfred Pennyworth and Morena Baccarin as Talia al Ghul. New casting additions include Yvonne Strahovski as Batwoman, Gaius Charles as Batwing and Ernie Hudson as his father Lucius Fox. Here's what director Jay Oliva had to say about how the story follows Son of Batman and this year's Batman Vs. Robin.

"So, the Bat-family comes back together. Damien comes back from the monastery, where he's trying to find himself, Nightwing has been trying to fill the shoes of Batman, but not doing a very good job, and, along the way, Luke Fox, who ends up being Batwing, and also Batwoman, join the fray, and they try to solve the mystery of what happened to Batman."

Producer James Tucker revealed that, while Warner Bros.' plans for the DC Universe Original Movies are to release one Justice League movie and one Batman movie every year, he wants to introduce new characters, which led to the inclusion of Batwoman and Batwing here. You can check out the entire episode of DC All Access below, which includes interviews with Gaius Charles and character designer Phil Bourassa. If you want to watch just the trailer, then skip ahead to the 1:17 mark of the video, and stay tuned for more on Batman: Bad Blood.
