The first photo from A&E's Bates Motel, an upcoming horror prequel series to director Alfred Hitchcock's iconic Psycho, has arrived. Vera Farmiga and Freddie Highmore star as mother and son Norma and Norman Bates in the Premiere debuting in the spring of 2013.

The series is from Carlton Cuse of Lost fame, and Kerry Ehrin of Friday Night Lights. While the show will take place primarily at the iconic Motel, Cuse reveals that the mythology will expand past that infamous shower.

"The town itself is very much a character in the show. There are a lot of secrets that lurk beneath this bucolic veneer."
