HBO has released a new full-length trailer for Barry season 2. Bill Hader has been a beloved comedic actor for years, dating back to his days on Saturday Night Live, but this series proved to be something of a turn for him, as it showcased a new side that audiences had yet to experience. Couple that with former Happy Days and Arrested Development star Henry Winkler by his side and HBO found themselves a hit. Now, we have easily our best look at the dark comedy's sophomore season.

The trailer opens up with the titular character reflecting on his nature as a human being, wondering if he's a bad person. This leads to Henry Winkler showcasing his acting chops before we dig into the meat of what's coming our way in season 2. There are quite a few bits of very dark comedy as Barry's two lives continue to intertwine. Overall, the trailer doesn't seem to give away too much as it would appear they want to keep the bulk of the surprises under wraps until the show makes its return next month. The best moment easily comes from Winkler, when he says this to Barry.

"Barry, there is an inherent darkness in you, I had the same instinct about Charlie Manson. I looked in the mirror and I said, 'Fella, you better get out of that guy's band.'"

Barry centers on Bill Hader as the titular character; a depressed, hitman who works on the cheap from the Midwest. After becoming dissatisfied with his life and feeling lonely, he reluctantly heads to Los Angeles to carry out a hit on an aspiring actor. Barry traces his target to an acting class and, unsuspectingly, finds a community that embraces him in a group of eager actors hoping to make it in LA. He wants to start a new life as an actor but his criminal past won't let him walk away, forcing him to try and strike a balance between both very different worlds.

The show's first season proved to be a massive hit critically, as it currently boasts a nearly perfect 99 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It also won two Emmy Awards, with Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Bill Hader and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Henry Winkler. The series was created by Hader and Alec Berg. They are both set to direct two episodes of the upcoming season.
