The CW Network series Arrow has not been shy about introducing several DC Comics villains in Season 1, such as Huntress (Jessica De Gouw) and Deathstroke (Jeffrey C. Robinson). On Wednesday, January 30 at 8 PM ET, viewers will be introduced to the nefarious villain The Count in "Vertigo" . We have our first look at this evil drug dealer, played by Fringe star Seth Gabel. Unlike the DC Comics, Vertigo is the name of the drug The Count tries to spread throughout Starling CIty, and not the name of the evil-doer himself. Take a look at these photos, then read more about the character from executive producer Marc Guggenheim.

Stephen Amell's Oliver Queen comes in contact with The Count when Thea (Willa Holland) gets seduced by this dangerous drug, which disorients its victims. Here's what Marc Guggenheim had to say about the personal nature of Arrow's battle with The Count.

"What gets Oliver into The Count's orbit and puts the two of them in conflict is actually a really personal motivation. Someone close to him is actually hurt by The Count. This is the first time the Arrow goes after someone purely out of revenge. There's argument to be made that the Arrow's general mission is one of vengeance, but this is very specific. This time, it's personal."

The executive producer also revealed that The Count is more of a businessman than a villain, who sees his drug as a "social service."

"He's a very interesting character, and the way Seth performs him, he plays him with a lot of flair. The fun thing about The Count is he's actually a businessman. He's got a little bit of a sociopathic streak in him, for sure, but he sees himself as an entrepreneur, as creating not drugs, but art. He compares his drug to performing a social service and to a fine wine, so he has a very skewed view of what it is that he does. At the same time, we know that he's not only sociopathic, but he's very sadistic as well."
