The beloved sitcom Arrested Development finally returned with the long-awaited Season 4 in May 2013 on Netflix, but ever since, fans have been wondering when Season 5 will happen. Back in August 2014, Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos revealed that he was confident Season 5 will come together, adding that putting together a schedule for all of the cast members to come back has been the biggest obstacle. During the South by Southwest Festival, Grantland's B.S. Report spoke with executive producer Brian Grazer, who confirmed that they are producing 17 new episodes. Though, he does not say that all 17 episodes are for Season 5. They could be split between two or three more seasons depending on cast availability. Here's what he had to say to Grantland's Bill Simmons below.

"I love Arrested Development, but it was never a huge thing. But people are loyal to it, and we're going to do another 17 episodes. So stay tuned for Arrested Development."

The producer wouldn't elaborate on a production schedule, and he didn't confirm if Season 5 will debut on Netflix or another outlet, but at least we know now that plans are in place for the Bluth family to return. There has also been rumors of an Arrested Development movie, but we haven't heard about that project for quite some time, so it may either be completely dead, or put on the back burner for the producers to focus on Season 5. Season 4 episodes focused on one member of the Bluth family at a time, which wasn't received too well by fans who wanted to see more of the entire family together. It isn't known if the producers are keeping this same format for Season 5.
