ABC's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has brought on Amy Acker to guest star as Audrey, the lover of Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg). While the character has never been seen before, this Portland-based cellist was mentioned in Marvel's The Avengers, during a conversation between Coulson and Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow).

Audrey, who has been impressing Portland music fans with her talent, still believes that Coulson is dead, unaware that he is actually protecting her from afar as a threat from her past begins to re-emerge. While this is the first time the character has been given a name, Rainia (Ruth Negga) mentioned Coulson's long-distance lover in a previous episode, revealing she had cried for days upon learning about his death.

Amy Acker is scheduled to appear in April 22 episode of the ABC series. The episode marks a reunion for the actress and Clark Gregg, who previously shared the big screen together in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. creator Joss Whedon's indie film Much Ado About Nothing. She also starred in Joss Whedon's shows Angel and Dollhouse, and currently stars on CBS' Person of Interest.
