Last month, FX made the surprising announcement that the Season 6 premiere for American Horror Story will air on Wednesday, September 16 at 10 PM, nearly a month earlier than it usually debuts. There has been nothing revealed about this season quite yet, but that hasn't stopped FX from dropping new trailers which may or may not have clues as to what this season is all about. Today, we have a new poster, which is just as creepy as it is confusing.

This new poster from FX Networks features a woman with her eyes closed, who has what look like large spiders coming out of her eyes. What these spider creatures could signify is anyone's guess at this point, but if you look closely, they certainly don't seem to be your average spiders. Still, with the premiere date just over one month away, we don't know when FX will unveil any official details about the series. The only cast member that has been confirmed is Lady Gaga, who confirmed her return in a radio interview earlier this year.

Last week, the bizarre new trailers revealed what appeared to be thinly-veiled homages to some classic horror movies, such as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Hills Have Eyes and Children of the Corn. FX renewed the sixth installment of the groundbreaking and award-winning anthology limited series back in November, but very few details have been revealed thus far. The show normally unveils the premise for each season, along with the returning and new cast members far ahead of time, but we're not sure why the show is being so mysterious this season.

Ryan Murphy serves as Co-Creator, Showrunner, Executive Producer, Writer and Director of American Horror Story. And Brad Falchuk is Co-Creator, Executive Producer and Writer. Tim Minear, Brad Buecker, Jennifer Salt, James Wong and Alexis Martin Woodall also serve as Executive Producers. The American Horror Story franchise is produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television.

The first four installments of the American Horror Story limited series franchise have received 71 Emmy Award nominations and 13 Emmy Award wins, including five Emmy awards for its fourth installment, American Horror Story: Freak Show. The fifth installment, American Horror Story: Hotel, features an all-star cast of Lady Gaga, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Chloë Sevigny, Denis O'Hare, Cheyenne Jackson, Evan Peters and Finn Wittrock.
