Like most seasons of American Horror Story, the lead-up to the latest chapter was littered with a bevy of short, stylized teasers that reveal little about what the story is actually about. Today, however, we've set our eyes on an actual trailer for the upcoming 8th installment, American Horror Story: Apocalypse, one that includes actual footage, not to mention a few juicy reveals. It packs a serious punch! Feast your eyes on the trailer at the bottom of the article. Here's a recap:

A bomb siren sounds ominously over a cityscape as a disembodied voice tells us in no uncertain terms: "It's the end of the world". We see Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, and Joan Collins in a private airplane looking stunned. In quick succession we get a man in a suit with glowing eyes, a mushroom cloud, a decimated landscape, and a man in a hazmat suit. We got shots from Murder House and Coven with text explaining that these worlds will collide. "Maybe it's time to eat somebody," says someone (I'm not certain), as dramatically flying text warns "They're back with a vengeance"! Who are they? Time will tell! We get close ups of Jessica Lange, Paulson, Dylan McDermott, Taissa Farmiga, and it ends with Emma Roberts stating emphatically (and triumphantly) "I bet you thought you'd seen the last of me!"

Indeed, Emma Roberts has been less visible during that last few seasons of American Horror Story. Though featured prominently in Coven and Freak Show (Season 4), she was absent from Hotel and Roanoke (Seasons 5 and 6) and appeared in only a single episode of Cult (Season 7). Her "last of me" line, however, no doubt alludes to the fate of her character Madison Montgomery in Coven. That chapter concluded with a battle between powerful witches, each hoping to be declared the next "Supreme". Though clearly one of the most powerful candidates, Montgomery (Roberts) proves herself a cruel and unworthy leader, meeting her doom at the hands of the Frankenstein-eque Kyle (Peters). Of course, coming back from the dead isn't unheard of in the world of Coven, so maybe we shouldn't be too surprised!
